I’m in the high school now I’m in the band… I think I know another Mann: “Hey, do you want to play with me?” “We could be the next Real big beat band, I guess If we just find the right people to impress.” One and two and three and… We’re marching onward Now we’ve got another! One and two and three and… To nowhere… aboard We have become brothers. One and two and three and… A big ship ablaze We will sail this summer. One and two and three and… With our art always. Can’t you see our fire? We will be brilliant, just wait. O, can’t you see our lightning? We will make a big boom, just you wait. O, can’t you hear our thunder? I see another boy, He’s annoying… Yes, but he is so goddamn good: “Guy, do you want to play with me?” “You think that we could Record ten songs, a day If we just find the right meter and métier.” One and two and three and… We’re marching onward Now we’ve got another! What about my good friend, His name is JAC? And then there is William Jacobs, names are many. What about Sir Nelson And Joe too, and Jodi? What about the Daddy Who just kept on working? What about our “shark tales” And long hair and laughing? What about our theft-desk, And Spanish song-playing? What will become of it When we’re grown and aging? I don’t know, now, no. I met a younger man, His name A-Ron, And on the bus he came to me and said: “Do you want to play with me?” “We could make a buck, Yes, even if we suck, If we just find the right set and start today!” One and two and three and… We’re marching onward Now we’ve got another! Yes, I think we will be great!

Hey N.L. I’d say "Helai", "How the hell?" To another emotive spell Your hair grew out as you heard The shout of the Catholic NRA! But that’s your chance So turn and tuck in your pants! But no: Time to fix the truck, But you’re out of luck For you spent your last buck On a plant! You don’t need it "You're right!" "You don't." "You don't need it." "You don't need it." "You don't need it." "You- I NEED IT!" "You don't need it. "You don't." Hey A.S. I should have known, I guess Of your power to possess Your words recite in smoky tongue To incite us to act But still you muddle my trust When you deal in sand and dust And know: You disenchant a friend, Mr. Zim Whom you consider too prim If you can’t overcome the whim I’ll never adjust You don’t need it! "You got it, pal." Hey K.M. It’s true you may follow them But why leap from the rim? Why? Your words may frame the feeling But also name the cost Since your nature cages all Please be aware of the fall So go: It’s time to trim your chops! And stop spinning the tops But deaf, your hearing drops All warning call Well, I think you know by now... You don’t need it "Gentlemen, I think I know what we can do about this." "Give me a second.."

I plunk a piano I strum a string I'll frame my mind When I start to sing One day'll I take a stand When I become a man And my hair is cut neat But if I don't find the word To make my passion heard I'll take a permanent seat I'll take my seat The rain it plops And floods my flow (Splish, splash) As above Some sit in sorry studios I'll find the words to say When I am aged and grey And my hair is cut neat But unless I find a key To open up me I'll take a permanent seat I'll take my seat The sky looks grim I gaze away Into the mirror And my eyes of clay I've lost the words to say And I'll probably pass away With my work incomplete Until I find the star That guides me very far I'll take a permanent seat I'll take my seat

Sunday 06:05
Sunday starts to scare me As we drive, red-faced, roaring We are tied and tired together But fam’ly flawed, we’re warring My sermon touched nobody Don’t tell me I was boring When I shout, I just want to be heard A storm of words comes roaring Sunday, big fuss Sunday, hurts us This day only seems to tear us all apart Let’s think of God May we recall one claim: Mutual shame for the other’s name, That’s never good On Sunday, we are seated And with little bread, try restoring Our hard hearts, broken every single day They’re bound to break tonight, blood outpouring Sunday stab wound Sunday attuned This day never fails to make me think of death Let’s pray to God May we find peace and mirth In the midst of our deathly rebirth You are dressed quite impeccably Such a shame it surely would be To tear your veil, O bride of Christ! The church has holy secrets Kept hidden in a head O how I wish I knew them They might alleviate my dread Sunday’s sorrows pang me Bitter-breathed, I am ignoring The mere thought, while everyone is mad Of me at home, in bed, snoring Sunday wakes me Sunday takes me Yes, this day claims my ears and eyes and everything Let’s look out like God on high I’m tired, but I’ll take a peek In the place of… In the face of each week, I am weak

Eyes Glisten 04:05
You're streaming forth your loneliness In long lines of prose I listen for an hour I listen to your woes The screens burn so brightly But they turn us quite cold With weddings in Alaska And everyone getting old Examples must be made And children, they will cry Calling drive-through doctors And never knowing why Everything is strange Everything is slow Everything must change Everything must go Except us You're dreaming of my phoniness And long nights of repose Eyes glisten in your tower Eyes glisten in your lows And dreams returning nightly They turn up uncontrolled And dreading what they ask ya, You just say you don't know This sample will not fade It changes but it don't die Falling diving dear one To you I ever owe my life Everything is strange Everything is slow Everything must change Everything must go Except us

Static 03:55
Never been to California Or its hotel They tell me it’s hell They tell me it’s nice Here comes the well-known radio song They’re playing the hit The same old shit Again Oh, static It cannot change Oh, static Now isn’t that strange? I don’t want to go to the jungle Where there are guns Roses and sons Children of mine Here it comes The well-known radio song They’re playing the hit The same old shit Again Oh, static A stable thing Oh, static A senseless thing "I'm a country boy and I say that proud" I’m not looking for a sad lawsuit Or a staircase To save face When I am caught Here it comes The well-known radio song They’re playing the hit The same old shit Again, again, again Oh, static Fizzles all days Oh, static Never fades away Oh, static Fizzles all days Oh, static Never fades away Static Away Static Away

about

Greatest hits? A swing and a miss, times six! I've struck out more than once. I like to write songs, but I’ll never come up with something that’s very much marketable. Nevertheless, I’m rather proud of these personal pieces from my past. The six selected songs are some of my favorite creations that I recorded over the course of half of the last decade between the years of 2015 and 2019.

I'm not a nostalgic man, but I chose a nostalgic cover, a photograph that captures my own happy but hapless attempts with tee ball as a youngster. I also opted for an equally nostalgic album title, a choice inspired by a time when albums had names like "Six Exciting Swing Songs From Yesteryear".

Enjoy the selection - I definitely do.
